SEA-ing You Makes Me Smile

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today's card was made for Ruthie's Tacky Tuesday Challenge that is held on the Tacky Tuesday Facebook Page. It is a monthly challenge that has a fun twist of play on words. This month's challenge was to use any sea creature and to use the word SEA.

I decided to make a pedistal card that was somewhat inspired by Lisa at Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons. You can view her card HERE.

I used an SVG file from Lettering Delights called Something Fishy for all of my cuts. This SVG file is on sale until Thursday!  For the ocean floor I added sand paper that I hand cut and inked.

My faces were stamped using Peachy Keen Stamps PK-560 Dolly Dumplins Face Assortment. For my blow fish I decided I wanted to use some googly eyes so I only used the nose and mouth of the stamp.

My sentiment was computer generated. I used a piece of clear packaging on the back of my bubbles so that they look like they are floating above my blow fish's head.

A few other details, My finished card is 5.25 x 5.25. All cuts were inked with varius colors of ink and I added my doodles with my Sakura Gelly Roll pen in white. I added cheeks with chalk. I also added Orange Peel Stickles to my blow fish.

I think that's about it! If you would like to play along in this challenge just log into facebook and visit the Tacky Tuesday Page.

Sweet Cupcake

Hi Everyone!

I am finally able to post a picture! Yay!

I have a very sweet cupcake card to share with you. I made this for my niece, Amber, who will be turning 6 in a few weeks. She loves the colors pink and purple. She doesn't live near me so I don't get to see her often but the last time I visited her she wanted me to read a few books to her. Her favorites were Pinkalicious and Purplelicious. So that was the inspiration for this card.

I wanted to make this a fun and colorful card.

Here is what I used:
Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge
Plantin SchoolBook Cartridge
Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ Sweet Somethings
DCWV Nana's Kids mat stack
Ranger Glossy Accents
Xmas Red Stickles
Swiss Dots embossing folder
D'Vine Swirl embossing folder
Baker's Twine
Button
Sakura Gelly Roll Pen

I am entering this is the following challenges:

Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenges ~ Sweet Treats Cartridge
My Craft Spot ~ How Sweet It Is

This project made the Top 3!

You Rock Birthday Cards

Hi Everyone! I can't believe I haven't posted anything this week! It's just been busy, busy!!

Today I do a have a few simple cards that I created a few weeks ago for my boys. They both had a birthday. My oldest turned 22 and my younger son turned 19. Man! That makes me feel old to say that!!

Anyway, they are not little anymore so I didn't want to make anything too young looking. That can be hard to do and even harder because it is for boys. Here is waht I made:

This set was for my oldest son. I tried to make the guitar look like his bass. Although, he informed me that this particular cut is not a bass :)

I cut the guitar from Indie Art Cricut cartridge several times to get all the layers I wanted.

I made this set for my 19 year old son.

All the cuts come from Birthday Bash. Of course, I needed a Peachy Keen Face. I used PK-757 Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed Face Assortment.

I hope to be posting more this coming week. My husband and I have been doing a little remodel and it is taking a little longer than we expected. Hopefully we will be done this weekend.

Thank you all for visiting and Happy Crafting!!

Hello, My Craft Friends! I hope your week has been an enjoyable one. Today, or should I say tonight, I have a cute little patriotic card to show you. I made it with three challenges in mind. I will list those at the end of my post.

This was a fun little card to put together.

Here is what I used:
Twinkle Toes Cricut Lite cartridge ~ background shape and shadow
Stand and Salute cartridge ~ firecrackers ( these were turned  and I hid the stripes using my Gypsy )
Peachy Keen Stamps ~ PK-490 Everyday Character Face Assortment
TPI Studio ~ sentiment
Patterned Paper is from My Minds Eye Party Time stack ( this paper has a little glitter but it doesn't show up in the picture too well )
Sizzix Embossing Folder ~ Lines and Dots
Ranger Glossy Accents ~ used on the eyes to give some shine
Stickles ~ Orange Peel and Yellow
Baker's Twine
Button
White Gelly Roll Pen

Here are the challenges I am linking to:

My Craft Spot ~ Monday Challenge #11 Tie It On! Use some kind of ribbon or twine on your project.

Graduation Announcements

Hello Everyone! I have been busy, busy lately. I am getting ready to start a new job so I am trying to tie up some loose ends around here. One of the things I needed to get done is make some graduation announcements for my 2nd son. We home school so he did not have a formal graduation ceremony ( his choice as we are in a homeschool co-op that has a graduation ceremony). I wanted friends and family to know that he did graduate and did an awesome job on his college SATs! He hasn't quite decided what he wants to do but I think he is leaning towards joining the military. Anyway, here is what I came up with:

This idea is not origional. Robin at Robin's Creative Cottage made some similar ones for her daughter. You can view them HERE.

I made this similar to a post card and will put his graduation info on the back. I made this 4.25 X 5.5.

Here is what I used:
A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge ~ cap ( I hid some of the cuts and trimmed off the tassel )
Pooh Font Cricut Cartridge ~ 2011 shadow and font welded in my Gypsy
D'Vine Swirls Embossing Folder
Ribbon I had in my stash
White Gelly Roll Pen
DMC Floss for the tassel
Brads

Since it was for my son I didn't want anything to elaborate because that is just not his style.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Crafting!

Party Time ~ Repost

Hi There! I told you that I would come back to give your details on the the scrapbook layout I posted over the weekend with some better pictures.

This layout was totally fun to make. And just to remind you I submitted it into My Craft Spot ~ Cuddly Critters challenge and Peachy Keen's Lets Face It Friday challenge ~ designer's choice.

Here are some better pictures and details:

You may want to click on the image to make it bigger.

As you can see this is a 2 page layout. I started with Kraft Cardstock and layered it with patterned paper from Ki Memories. The patterend paper for my title comes from My Mind's Eye Summer Song stack.

Here's a close up of the first page.

All the critters on this page, the tree branch, and stump were all cut from Create A Critter cartridge. I used Co'Ordinations and Bazzil cardstock. The cake was cut from Birthday Bash cartridge. I added stickles in Baby Blue, Orange Peel, and Lime green to the cake.  The birthday hat on the owl comes from Simply Charmed cartridge. For the deer I added Purple stickles to her collar and her face was stamped with a Peachy Keen stamp as was the owl and hedge hog.

PKS sets used were:
PK-754 Critter Face Assortment Medium (hedge hog and owl)
PK-641 Princess Faces 1 1/8 (deer) I just used part of the face.

Here you can see the hidden tag. I just hand cut the tag and added some ribbon I picked up at JoAnns.

Here is a close up of the second page.

For my title I used Pooh Font cartridge. It is one of my favorite font cartridges. Again, I used Create A Critter cartridge for my skunk and caterpiller. I used Simply Charmed for the gift and Birthday Bash for the bird and ballon and for the ice cream. I added stickles in Lime Green, Xmas Red, and Cotton Candy to all the spinkles on the ice cream. I also added Ranger Glossy Accents to the cherry as well as all the eyes and some of the noses on my critters. Love using Glossy Accents!

Peachy Keen Stamps used here are :
PK-754 Critter Faces Medium (bird and caterpiller)
PK-757 Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed Face Assortment (skunk)

Other miscellaneous info:

I used my Sakura Gelly Roll pen in white for highlighting and Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Dye for all my inking around the edges. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the owl and bird using Swiss Dots and the cake, ice cream, and gift were embossed with D'Vine Swirls.

So there you have it! I hope you all have a super day!

I am adding this to linking party over on Alex's Blog:

Father's Day ~ FCCB Challenge Me Monday

Good Morning Everyone! It's Monday! I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend.

Mondays mean it's time for another Challenge Me Monday challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is all about Dad. Our sponsor this week is Whimsie Doodles. The winner of the challenge will get a gift certificate to their online store.

Some of the designers are using images from Whimsie Doodles. I decided to use the Happy Father's Day sentiment for my simple project. I don't know about you but making something for a guy is much harder than making something for a gal. For my project I decided to make a gift box for the special dad.

For this box I used an SVG file from SVG Cuts called Tied Surprise Gift Boxes. You can find the SVG HERE.

Here is a side view of the box.

And one more picture in the bright sunlight.

I used kraft cardstock for the base of my box. As you can see I kept it very simple. I selected what I thought was a masculine print from DCWV's Rustic Stack for the flap.

My sentiment, as I mentioned easlier, is from Whimsie Doodles. You are getting a special preview!

I cut the tag from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More.

I used Crinkle Ribbon in Golden Harvest. I purchased this from My Craft Spot. I love Kimberly's Crinkle Ribbon!

Everything was inked with Ranger's Distress ink in Tea Dye.

I hope you'll stop by Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see all the wonderful inspiration my fellow design team members have put together for you. I know you will be inspired to create something and join us this week. Can't wait to see what you create.

I'm adding this to the Linking Party with Alex!
