Go Red!

Happy Monday, Crafty Friends!

It's time for another Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. Today's Challenge Me Monday #45 is Support the Cause ~ Make a project in honor of a cause near and dear to you or a loved one's heart (i.e. breast cancer awareness, autism, MADD, etc.).

The cause I chose is very near and dear to my heart as it has touched me in a tremendous way. On November 4, 2001, my mom died from a massive heart attack at the age of 54. There were no visible signs that she was ill and it took our family completely by surprise. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women.  I decided to make a post card as a reminder for National Wear Red Day.
Here is what I used:
Cricut Cartridges ~ Forever Young, dress ~ Nate's ABCs, red lettering ~ A Child's Year, base
Lettering is computer generated
Ribbon ~ Hobby Lobby
Paper Studio Punch
ATG and Zig 2 way glue

This is a picture of my mom and dad. This was taken at my sister's wedding. My father passed away 3 years after my mom from complications due to ALS ~ Lou Gehrig's disease. I miss them both dearly.

I urge all women to visit Go Red For Women and get educated about heart disease. On February 4th, please wear red to support this important cause. I will be wearing red in honor of my mother.

If you would like more information about ALS you can visit The ALS Association.

Make sure to visit FCCB and see all the other great causes that my fellow design team members support.

You Had Me at Hello

Happy Saturday, Crafty Friends!

Today's card is for the Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesdays cartridge challenge. This week's challenge is to use the Sweethearts cartridge. This came together quickly. I like that it is not so cutesy. I tend to make a lot of those types of cards, which, don't get me wrong, I love to make cutesy cards. It's just nice to do something a little more sophisticated. :)
This is a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card.
Here is what I used:
Cricut Cartridges ~ Sweethearts for the couple and Twinkle Toes for the label
40:31 Creations ~ Love stamps
Fiscars Punch
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder ~ Swiss Dots
American Crafts Ribbon
Flowers
Pearl Bling
Foam tape, Glue Dots, and ATG

Thanks for stopping by!

My Pink Cadillac!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today's card is for a friend's 18th birthday and its a surprise. She gave several of us some info on her and one of the things she is fond of is pink. So I thought, what 18 year old girl wouldn't love a pink Cadillac! So that is what I went with.
The lighting for this picture is not that great but I did my best since it is cloudy outside.
Here are the details:
Cricut Cartridge ~ Nifty Fifties, all my cuts come from this cartridge.
Gypsy ~ I used this to weld my letters together
Cardstock ~ Background is DCWV Safari Kids Stack the rest is scraps from my bin. The pink and gray paper are shimmery but the picture really doesn't show that off well.
Gelly Roll Pen
Foam tape, pop dots, and atg

Hope she likes it!

I will be submitting this to My Pink Stamper's Birthday Challenge and Paper Playtime - Party Related.

Thanks for stopping by.

Love is in the Air

Happy Monday, my crafty friends!

It's "Challenge Me Monday" over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog! Today's challenge is a "Neglected Cartridge" challenge. Use a cartridge that you have neglected to use in the last 6 months. Well, I don't know about you but I have several that I have not used as much as I thought or not at all! I chose to use 3Birds on Parade. I purchased this cartridge several months ago and had not used it once. This card also features the new stamp set from 40:31 Creations. Can I just tell you how much I love these stamps! They stamp beautifully and so crisp! Erin has several sets that are available for preorder so make sure you check them out. You can view them HERE.

Now, on to my card:
I just love this card! In fact, my  husband commented on how cut it came out and he rarely pays attention to what I make.
Here's is what I used to make this card:
Cricut Cartridges ~ Twinkle Toes for the card base and its layers, 3 Birds On Parade for the bird and its layers, Simply Charmed for the red heart box, Home Decor for the branch, and Create A Critter for the hearts on the branch. I had those left over from another project.
40:31 Creations Stamps ~ Love, I used 2 stamps from this set, one for the sentiment and one for my heart.
Cardstock ~ Recollections and Martha Steward
Googly Eye
White Gelly Roll Pen
Pop Dots, Glue Dots, and ATG

Now it's your turn. Go over to Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and check out what all the other designers have to inspire you. Then dust off those neglected cartridges and join us in the challenge.

Happy Crafting!

It's a really fun challenge. This challenge is actually on Facebook. It is open to all. Just click HERE to get to the challenge page.
Here is what was used to make this card:
Cricut Cartridges ~ Create A Critter, whale and Birthday Bash, I used the card feature for the base and cut the hat and balloon from this cartridge.
Gypsy ~ I welded the black out of the hat to the base of the whale.
American Crafts Ribbon
Baker's Twine
Sentiment ~ Computer generated
White and Black Gelly Roll Pens

Been Hiding?

Good Morning, Crafty Friends!

For this week's Flaunt It Fridays we are flaunting the bear in a trash can cut from the Give A Hoot cartridge. You can find this cut on page 61. To inspire you I made a card with a pull out sentiment.
Here is what I used to create this card:
Cricut Cartridge ~ Give A Hoot, Plantin School Book
Sentiment ~ Computer generated
Red Sticky Tape
White Gelly Roll Pen
Cardstock ~ Recollections and DCWV

I created a pocket for this card by cutting 2 of the base layer and adhered these layers with the red sticky tape. Then I built the card from there. I welded a retangle to the bears head using my Gypsy. I then cut another head to adhere on top of that. the card came together pretty quickly.

Head over to Flaunt It Fridays and check out with the other designers put together for you. Then get out your Give A Hoot cartridge and Flaunt your stuff with us!

Danger! Contents Highly Addictive

Good Morning, My Crafty Friends!

Welcome to another Flaunt It Fridays Challenge! Today's challenge is to Flaunt the skull and crossbones from Mini Monsters. The only requirement is that it not be used for a Halloween project. Here is what I cam up with:
f
This is a pop-top can filled with chocolates. It is a fun way to give a gift.

Here are the steps in making this fun gift.

You will need and can with a pop-top lid, safety can opener, super glue, and something in which to fill the can.
You are going to turn the can over and open it from the bottom with your safety can opening. Empty the contents from the can and clean it thoroughly.
Now fill your can with whatever surprise you would like to hide inside.
Using super glue reattach the bottom of the can. It is probably a good idea to put the contents in a sandiwhic bag or baggie with a twist time. This will help protect the contents from the glue.
Now the fun part, Decorating!
Here is what I used to decorate this can:
Cricut Cartridges ~ Mini Monsters - skull and crossbones, Gypsy Wanderings - Danger
Fiscars Punch
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders ~ Seeing Spots, Swiss Dots
Computer generated sentiment
Atg or if you really want it to stick, Mod Podge

I hope you join us this week in Flaunting your stuff at Flaunt It Fridays!

Happy Crafting!

Winter Warmies FCCB #42

Happy Monday Crafty Friends!

It's Monday so that means it's time for another Fantabulous Crciut "Challenge Me Monday!" Todays challenge is "Winter Warmies." Create something using things you would wear to keep you warm in the winter. For this challenge I created a shaped card.
Here is what I used to make this card:
Cricut Cartridges ~ Everyday Paper Dolls, Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More
Gypsy ~ the mittens from this cartridge come in pairs so the first thing I did was "hide" one of the mittens. Once that was done I copied the mitten I wanted to use and flipped it and welded the 2 together. I also cut 2 more mittens, one in white and one in blue. I glued the blue one on top of my welded base so that it would hide the fold. I then cut the bottom off the white mitten to create a white cuff.
Cardstock ~ from my stash
Cuttlebug ~ Houndstooth embossing folder
White Fun Flock ~  I used this on the whilte cuff
Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch
Martha Stewart Gem
Ribbon ~ Hobby Lobby
Sentiment ~ Computer generated

Head on over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to check out what the rest of the Fantabulous designers have created. I invite each one of you to participate in the challenge. Who knows! You could be the winner of the great prize this week!

Happy Crafting!

Heart Shaped Valentine

If you are looking for the Hello Kitty Blog Hop chick HERE.

Good Morning Everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I appreciate all the sweet, sweet comments and support.

Did you know that Emma at My Creative Time has her first Throwback Thursday challenge of the New Year going on right now? If you have never participated in Emma's challenges, you should really give it a try. This weeks's Throwback Thursday challenge is to use any cartridge you would like but you must include a heart in your design. I chose to make a heart shaped card.
Here is what I used to make this card:
Cricut Cartridge ~ Sweethearts
Gypsy ~ I welded 2 of the shadow heart shapes together at the top. I believe I sized these at 5.25 in.
Cardstock ~ Recolections
White and black Gelly Roll Pens
Valentine Ribbon ~ I believe I picked this up at WalMart last year
Foam Tape ~ I popped up the circle shape.

There you have it! It was a pretty quick card to put together. Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Crafting!

Hello Kitty Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the Flaunt It Friday's  Hello Kitty Blog Hop. If you are here from the super talented Elsa's blog Cricutlver then you are in the right spot. If you just arrived here and would like to start from the beginning please go directly to the Flaunt It Fridays blog. For this week's challenge we were asked to flaunt the Hello Kitty with Airplane on Page 65 from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cart. I am one of the designers that does not own that cart but I was able to use other carts to create a Hello Kitty look-alike.
I made a treat bag topper. To make my Hello Kitty look-alike I used Create A Critter for the kitty and New Arrival for the airplane. I used my Gypsy to "hide" the kitty face and the windows on the airplane. I Peachy Keen Stamps PK-754 Critter Faces Medium for the kitty face. I had to kind of ink certain parts of the face stamps to get the parts that I wanted. I used heart shaped brads for my airplane windows and used to white gelly roll pens for the stitching. The Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls was used to emboss the background paper.

Now for my second project we got to choose any cut from the Hello Kitty Greetings but again since I don't own the cartridge I chose a similar cut. I used the Cricut Search Engine and found that there are cherries on Hello Kitty Greetings so I found some cherries on several cartridges and chose the cherries from Country Life. For my second project I made a card.
This is a 4.25x5.5 inch card. The cherries were cut from the Country Life cartridge. The patterned paper came from DCWV Sweet Stack. I used a Fiscars punch and added ribbon and button with baker's twine. Used my white gelly roll pen for a bit of accent. The sentiment is from Pink By Designs Country Living stamp set.

Now what's a blog hop without some blog candy! Today I am giving away a $10 gift certificate to Peachy Keen Stamps! All you have to do is make sure you are a follower and leave a  comment after this post. Our hop will run all weekend long and I will chose the winner for my my blog candy on Tuesday Jan. 11th.

Now remember, you must leave a comment on everyone's blog to have a chance to win the Grand Prize Giveaway which is the Love Always stamp set sponsored by Pink By Design. The grand prize will be on Sandra's blog! You will have all weeked to complete the hop and we will draw the winner sometime on Monday or Tuesday.

Hello crafty friends,

Today I am sharing  a gift bag that I decorated for My Pink Stamper's color challenge and design team entry. Robyn is selecting 2 new designers and has opened it to all who does her color challenge. Here is what I used to create this gift bag:
Kraft paper gift bag
Cricut Cartridges ~ Twinkle Toes Lite - background shapes cut at 5.25, 5, & 4.75, dancing girl along with all her layers cut at 4.27, dance shoes cut at 1.25, Tags, Bags, Boxes & More - Tag cut at 3 inches.
Recollections cardstock
Sentiment ~ Fiscars
White and Black Gelly Roll Pens
Lime Green Stickles
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders ~ Swiss Dots for the pink mat and Allegro for the white mat
Sheer Pink Ribbon
Foam tape ~ I popped the little dancer

I have been following My Pink Stamper for almot 2 years. She is one of the first blogs I followed and I have learned so much from watching her YouTube videos. Thank you, Robyn, for so generously sharing and teaching each of us.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening. Happy Crafting! ~ Saundra :)

2011 Coming Events and A Winner

WARNING ~ Long Post! I hope you will bear with me. :)

Hello Everyone! First I would just like to say WELCOME to all my new followers/friends. I am delighted that you chose to follow my blog and hope to inspire you as much as you inspire me.

Today I wanted to take the time to share some things that you will be seeing on my blog in the near future. I had wanted to share this with you a few days earlier but a family crisis prevented me from having the time to do that. Sometimes life can be hard but I am thankful that I have a Heavenly Father that knows what is best.

First I would like to announce that I have been selected to be a designer for Flaunt It Fridays Challenge Blog.
I am so honored to be chosen to be part of this talented group of ladies. The latest challenge is to use the martini glass from From My Kitchen Cricut cartridge and to do something other than a card. Here is what I put togeher:
I decided to make a tag to add to a gift. I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More for the base. The sentiment is computer generated and of course I had to use my Gelly Roll Pens.  All cardstock is from Recollections. Added ribbon and a few I Rock gems and it was finished! Easy! :)

Coming this Friday, January 7th, Flaunt It Fridays will be hosting a Hello Kitty Blog Hop.
This will be my first blog hop as a designer for them and I am excited and hope that you will join us in the hop.

I will continue to design for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. So look for those posts on Mondays.

Coming March 14th - 18th I will be a Guest Designer for Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog. It will be a week filled with Peachy Keen goodness. So mark your calendars. There will be a Peachy giveaway!

Next, I have created a Facebook page as a means to keep you all updated on Luv Scrapping Togethers latest posts. You  can LIKE  Luv Scrapping Together by hitting the Like button posted on the side of my blog.

I also wanted to share my  New Years Crafting Resolution! I have resolved to make something from every Cricut Cartridge I own. I will try to feature at least 2 cartridges a month here on my blog. I have come to the realization that I have not used many of my cartridges enough or not at all. That must be corrected!

The last item on my list is to announce the Rockin' New Years Blog Hop winner! Using Random.org the winner is...

#46 Erin from Spantastikreations

Congratulations, Erin, I will email you shortly for your address and get your I Rock out to you immediately.

Thank you all for your support and kind comments. I truly cherish each one! Here is to a wonderfully creative New Year!  Happy Crafting! ~ Saundra :)
